Foundation Day
The day begins with Puja in the Saraswati temple followed by a special
assembly for the school, where the School Principal, the School captain, the School vice
captain and a few teaching Staff address the gathering, sharing the journey of MCGS and
the school’s long standing reputation and excellence. After that we celebrate the
School's birthday with cake cutting by the Captain body and tea for everyone. The staff
and students then spend some time playing fun games like Tug of War etc.
However, the biggest event of the day is the school fête, Mayo College
is invited for this and they join us in our celebrations. The fete is inaugurated by
esteemed guests every year by cutting a ribbon and releasing colorful balloons in the
air. There are a variety of food stalls, including the stalls from the girls who have
opted for SUPW and our SAHYOG group, who are engaged in community service. The money
earned from the stalls help the community service groups for their later projects with
their NGOs. The Sports department organizes lots of interesting games which keeps the
students engaged with activities. Lucky draw is taken out at the end of the fete with
attractive gifts by both heads of the school. The fete is a much awaited event for the
students every year.
There is a lot of learning for the students and ample socializing
through the fete.
